A storytelling game about food. You will craft a three course meal out of random ingredients and present each dish to the table, one delicious (or deeply questionable) story at a time.

SETUP

Shuffle all of the cards. Randomly deal 9 cards to each creator, and place the rest in the center of the table as a draw pile.

YOUR MENU

Secretly arrange your 9 ingredients into three groups: a starter, a main course, and a dessert.

  • You may distribute ingredients however you like, such as one in the starter or four in the dessert.
  • Cards with white circles are modifiers, and must be combined with another ingredient.

RULES OF THE KITCHEN

You may only use ingredients provided by the cards you hold; nothing else edible may be added! In addition, you MUST use every ingredient dealt to you in one of your courses.

PRESENTING A DISH

When a creator is ready with their first dish, the starter, they present it to the group. Only one dish is presented at a time. As you present a course, place each ingredient card face up on the table as you use it. Face up cards cannot be used for future courses.

You are encouraged to tell a story as you present each ingredient. Add processes such as baked, blasted with a blow torch, or hand crafted to add extra flavour. Consider where the ingredient came from, why it's special, or serve it as an experience rather than food.

THE VERDICT

Once you have finished presenting the story of your course, every other creator says either "I'd eat that" or "I wouldn't eat that."

If ALL other creators say "I'd eat that": great job! Take a new ingredient card from the top of the draw pile. You must include it in one of your future dishes. If any creator says "I wouldn't eat that", you have tried your best.

  • After the dessert round, no new ingredient cards are taken.

COURSE BY COURSE

After all creators have presented their starter, move on to the main dishes, then to the desserts. After all creators have presented their dessert, we hope you had a pleasant eat.
